The Myth of Individualism: Reflections While Outlining the Next Epic.

I’m starting to outline the next epic in The Drakaina Blood Saga, and I find myself sitting here a little frustrated, as I’m sure many are. The creative process often brings its own set of challenges, but today, my frustration stems from something beyond the story—something rooted in the world we’re all navigating.
Lately, I’ve been increasingly disheartened by the media’s constant use of clickbait headlines, false or misleading information, and embellished stories designed to drum up fear, panic, and infighting. This tactic serves a purpose: to keep us distracted and divided, blinding us to the reality of our power. A power that doesn’t lie in isolation but in our collective strength.
Adding to this frustration is the fact that many social media companies, who shall remain nameless, now operate without fact-checkers. This absence means they can literally control the narrative without any real, honest feedback to challenge their false, misleading, or embellished stories. They have been doing this for some time, shaping public perception in ways that serve their interests rather than the truth.
This frustration ties in with part of the poison that currently ails us on a societal level, and that is the lie of individualism as the key to success. The narrative that one person alone can rise to greatness is not just misleading—it’s a harmful and damaging illusion that creates rivalry and cut-throat energies rather than collaboration, partnership and alliance.
When you look closely at the rise of any billionaire under a microscope, you’ll see a mural of success painted by the brushstrokes of countless hands. Hard work, dedication, and brilliance from a collective of dynamic minds working together always drive greater success than any one person can possibly achieve alone. The myth of the self-made individual overlooks the crucial role of community, collaboration, and support.
Our true strength as a species has always been our ability to work together. From the earliest days of human history, survival and progress have depended on empathy, compassion, and understanding. These qualities have driven our evolution and are the foundation of resilient, thriving communities.
The idea that any one person can achieve success or greatness alone is a dangerous fallacy. It perpetuates isolation and competition when, in reality, we thrive through connection and collaboration. Our greatest achievements come from collective effort, not individual isolation.
Therefore, as I sit here outlining The Drakaina Blood Saga’s next epic chapters, I’m reminded that storytelling, much like society, is a collective effort. Inspiration comes from everywhere—history, mythology, conversations, and shared experiences. The world I’m building isn’t shaped by my imagination alone; it’s influenced by the collective creativity and wisdom of those around me and those who have come before.
In these trying times, it’s more important than ever to recognize the strength we hold as a group. The media and social platforms may try to keep us divided, but our power lies in unity, empathy, and cooperation. Without fact-checkers, social media companies can control narratives unchecked, making it even more crucial for us to seek out the truth and support one another.
Let’s reject the myth of individualism and embrace the power of the collective. Together, we rise; together, we awaken—not as isolated individuals, but as a united community working toward a better future for all.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Stay tuned for more updates on The Drakaina Blood Saga, and let’s keep striving for a world where our collective strength is our greatest asset.
Be the light,
